Moving to Omaha!

After much prayer and deliberation, Steve has accepted a promotion with Bank of the West and we're moving to Omaha, Nebraska.

Steve headed north this past Sunday with a full truck and trailer, accompanied by our fine furry family members, Beau and Smokey. Smokey meowed basically the entire 8-hour drive and was not easily consoled or comforted. Beau has made the trip several times before and was raring to go! Smokey is recovering and almost back to her old self.

Steve made his first appearance at work on Monday and all seems to be going well! He’s really excited about the new opportunities and challenges ahead.

The boys and I are holding down the fort in OKC. My last day at work is tomorrow, December 20th. The boys last day will be this Friday, December 21st. It’s the end of the 2nd nine weeks, so hopefully it will make transitioning a little easier. Steve will fly back this Saturday. We’ll spend Christmas with our family and friends and then load the last of our belongings and head to Omaha on the 27th. My parents are planning on following us up! I’ll be glad for the company!!!

We’ll be staying with Steve’s parents initially. They live in a beautiful, large home, with plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and hidey-holes to get us through! Our house will be on the market soon and I’m prayerful the right buyer will find it quickly! :)

Everyone’s first question… “How are the boys?” Well… they’re okay. They’re mad and sad, but they’re really trying to be troopers about it. We’ve all had our good moments, not so good moments and plenty of sad moments. We’ve been blessed with great family, friends, teachers, schools, sports teams, church groups, co-workers and more here in Oklahoma City and it’s so, so hard to leave. To those of you that happen to read this… THANK YOU!!! You’ve made the last 4 years amazing!!!

BUT… we are NOT saying good-bye! My family is here and we will be back often!!! With the ease of Internet and email, we can stay in touch. And when we’re coming to town, we can let people know! Once we get settled, we would LOVE visitors!!!

It was a very difficult decision and we welcome everyone’s prayers and positive thoughts!!!

We appreciate your encouragement and support!
